1. BGV qualifying tournament of the BGV
AK 12-18 girls
The 1st qualifying tournament of the AK 12-18 girls took place in the GC Maria Bildhausen in the beautiful front Rhön on the former agricultural area of the monastery Maria Bildhausen, which was founded in 1158.
Contrary to all bad weather forecasts, our 4 Valley players in the AK 18 - Antonia Treitinger, Aylin Sommer, Lisa Gillen and Theresa Bodensteiner - were spared continuous rain and were able to achieve very good results in cold temperatures but partial sunshine. The greens, which are not yet perfect due to the season, presented a challenge that the girls accepted and rewarded themselves with a 3rd, 4th, 6th and 11th place at the end of the two tournament rounds.
AK 16/18 boys
For the boys it was the golf course at Habsberg that had to be conquered. The beautiful course in the north of Bavaria with almost 100 bunkers and several doclecks was a real challenge for our AK16/18 boys. In the AK 16 Ben Kelling reached an excellent 3rd place. The best results in AK 18 came from Jonathan Soemer and MAx Friesinger, both shared the 19th place. Despite adverse weather conditions, in the end six boys are in a good position to qualify for the DM preliminary in Hamburg. Until the next tournament the boys will train diligently.
AK 14 boys
Our two 12 year old young stars Michael Meyer and Kilian Probst-Öttl played at GC Regensburg. Both had a lot of fun and were satisfied with their results. Michael played a 6 over par in his second round and said himself "the putts just didn't want to fall, next time they will fall again for sure". Also the rental putter surely led to this statement and will surely change when his own comes. Kilian Öttl says about his performance "I am satisfied, I am divided 22nd and played 14 and 15 over".
The next highlight of the tournament season is coming up for the AK Youth with the Bavarian Championships on May 22 and 23.
