GermanAK 50 German Championships 2021
Lauterhofen - Finally, competitive golf again - even for the best seniors in the republic. In the GC Lauterhofen the German championship of the age group 50 has begun. The Upper Palatinate club shows itself at its DM premiere from its best side and offers the 30 participating ladies and the 50 men in cooperation with the DGV highest possible safety thanks to an extensive and careful hygiene concept.

After a long time it started again. Due to Corona, the field of participants was reduced to 50 men, but all three participants were allowed to play rounds. With anticipation our athletes Kathrin Pegau (German Champion AK50 of the disabled 2019) and Stephan Amtmann drove to the Upper Palatinate after a long winter training.
With very changeable weather on all days, both had to fight with strong gusts of wind and a lot of rain.
After rounds of 78 and 79 on the first two days, Stephan Amtmann started the third day with a 17th place.
Unfortunately, he could not recall his good performance of the first two days and dropped back to 25th place with an 86. "Here the wind played me badly on some holes, and my shots into the green neatly faded." so Stephan's résumé.
Through the results of the first two rounds, he sees himself prepared for the next challenges and knows what he still needs to train on with his coach Peter Mally.
Karthin Pegau lost some of her tournament routine during the Corona break. The weekend turned out to be a "tough challenge" for the AK50 German disabled champion after her great success in 2019. However, she took the challenge fiercely and played in the adverse conditions, rounds of 02, 88 and 97 strokes.
"I started every day in pouring rain and then on Sunday came in between also a hailstorm. Accordingly, the course was very wet for everyone, but the greens were hard and very fast despite the wetness. I always gave my best and therefore I am not only dissatisfied" said Kathrin about her performance.
In two weeks it goes on for Kathrin and Stephan in Lichtenau at the Bavarian Championship of the AK 50.
