Chiara Horder happy Playing the European Ladies Championship 2020
After the victory in the girls' Team EM, Chiara Horder is still very happy. The youth national player of the Golfclub München Valleys finished with 70, 68, 69 and 70 strokes with a total of -7 on an excellent eighth place at the individual European championship for women!
The winner of the tournament was also a German player, Paula Schulz Hanßen from the Sankt Leon Rot Golf Club.
Two very successful weeks with the Girls National Team around Coach Sebastian Rühl.
"I am super happy to end my season with a top 10 finish. These were the best two weeks you can imagine. The fact that the players of our team have now achieved even better results for Germany makes this year perfect," Chiara said about her success.
The Golf Club Valley and the Golfsport Manufaktur were available to all DGV National Teams and coaches as usual as a platform and for preparation courses this year.
"Hard work beats talent every time, it's great to have both", said Danny Wilde, who was delighted with the success of his athletes. "It's always great when performance is crowned with success, that's not always the case in sports".
The "Corona Year" is obviously a sensational year for the German amateur golf sport. In a year of forced breaks for the German Bundesliga (DGL), the DGL athletes, who were also rested by this, were able to perform increasingly on an international level and at top-class tournaments.
For example, Aline Krauter from GC Stuttgart won the British Amateur Ladies Championship, the national team around head coach Uli Eckard won the team and individual European championships (Matti Schmidt from GC Herzogen Aurach) in the men's singles. The Junior Team Germany defends the title at the European Young Masters, victory of the individual ranking of the girls at the European Young Masters. The women's national team around coach Stefan Morales became vice champion at the European Team Championship. Only the Young National Team still has the European Team Championship ahead of it. Last but not least, however, already in the elite team of the DGV, the outstanding major victory of Sophia Popov at the British Open and most recently the Challenge Tour victory of Hurly Long.
So it can go on like this in the German golf sport. The expectations for the next tournaments and years are high. It remains exciting....
